More than 787 participants attended the 4th WSLO Congress held at Osaka in Japan, 1st -4th April 2011. 591 orthodontists and 196 co-dental staffs attended.

First of all, I would appreciate for the sympathy and concern to one who suffered due to triple disaster of Tohoku area: the earthquake, Tsunami and nuclear radiation problems.

I’d like to thank to everyone who participation to attend the 4th WSLO Congress, but our mind and heart still with our colleague who effected and could not able to come as well. Let us pray for their safety and recovery.
I had received a lot of e-mails of encouragement and concerns from abroad for more than 150 mails from friends after March 11th accident. The Foreign ministry of Japan announced that foreign travelers should not refrain of traveling to Japan.
In this situation, the WSLO founding member Dr. Silvia Geron, and Dr. Rafi Romano, Dr. Pablo Echarri, Dra. Gabriela Davicino, Dra. Carla M. Melleiro Gimenez, Dr. Robert Slater, Dr. Evgenia Bykova, Dr. Dr. Luiz Fernando Eto, Dr. Ricky Wong, Dr Rita Baratela Thurler and Dr. Ian Hutchinson who could not leave there country, send me the DVD data of there lectures. So we could use these media to the empty part of the program. I thank for them heartily.
In addition, many of the orthodontists who could not participate to this congress contributed a registration fee as a donation.

Contribution report:
The donations of ¥ 80,000 cash contribution from 8 orthodontists from Hong Kong, will make Hong Kong orthodontists' presence felt by the Japanese people.
¥ 100,000 from Dr. Amy Lo

I still had decided to be held the 4th WSLO Congress in Osaka as scheduled because my goal was to promote and spread the Lingual Orthodontics in the Asian region. Everybody agreed the quality of the Lingual Orthodontics in Orient countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and last is Japan but not the least as we were the pioneers of the technique. However, talking about the wide spread use of the Lingual Orthodontics, honestly many orthodontists do not familiar to the Lingual Orthodontics and most people do not have the enough information of it despite of the above comments.
In other words, it is very important to give the correct information to the general dentists and especially to the orthodontists about this wonderful and unique technique.
